the one-woman show I have a one-woman show. As I like to assure those unfamiliar with the medium, my one-woman show is a full-length play about me, written by me, and performed by me. The show, Dance Like Me, takes place when I was fourteen. At the time, I studied tap and jazz dance at a local studio, where I spent many of my afternoons. I was also a big girl. I'm sure you can do the math there. Meanwhile, I worked at a pet store, where I fell for a slightly older, dangerous boy. We became friends, and maybe something else, something I could never manage to name. He's in the show, as is my Argentine dance teacher, as is my mother. I do all the parts. I performed Dance Like Me in San Francisco in 2006. I don't currently have plans for any performances, but if you want to book a funny, sad show about how hard it is to be a teenager, let me know. |
